LPS 5043 - American Political Institutions (3)

This course explores the role of American political institutions (executive, legislative, and judiciary) in the policy making process. Against the backdrop of American culture and political history and drawing from diverse materials on the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government, we examine how these American political institutions affect public policy and public service.  The course will include a focus on the interplay of local, state, and federal government through the lens of current policy challenges.  Students will gain knowledge on institutions and systems that will equip them to meet challenges in their own communities.
