EG 5183 - Teaching of English Language Arts (3)

This course will offer students the opportunity to learn content and pedagogical knowledge in lesson planning, classroom practices, and materials needed to effectively teach English Language Arts. Focus will be on selecting texts for instruction, teaching writing and strategies to help students develop habits of readers and writers and see themselves as readers and writers. Students will possess the ability to create critical, responsive, and responsibly literate students. Students will learn how to move from theory to practice in English Language Arts and gain specific understanding of teaching the adolescent reader and writer.
