PSFT 6613 - Family Life Cycle: Theory and Practice (3)

The focus of the course is on the understanding and integration of the individual, marital, and family developmental cycle.  The students will be introduced to life-span development literature and to the systemic application of this perspective in the field of marriage and family therapy.  In addition, students will develop therapeutic skills for individuals and families at traditional transitional points across the life cycle: childhood, adolescence, and older adulthood.  Students will also think critically about how their own ideas and experience regrading the family life cycle relate to the course material as well as how they might impact their clinical work.
