This core seminar provides a comprehensive introduction to the advanced graduate level study of the communication professional and academic discipline of Advertising, including advertising communication theories, models, research findings and professional practices. The course covers Advertising as a multimedia formatted mass or targeted communication that is deployed by an openly sponsored, non-personal message to promote, persuade or sell a product, service, brand, image, opinion or idea. It also covers Advertising as an economically, socially and culturally significant communication professional discipline.
