The mission of College of Health Sciences is to improve community health by preparing health care professionals who exemplify a commitment to a Christian life of service, collaborating across disciplines and professions to comprehensively enhance health outcomes, and honoring human life through our students, our employees, our patients and our community.

The College of Health Sciences is focused on promoting academic excellence and educating individuals for careers in health care. The College has a variety of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees dedicated to the delivery of patient care and well-being.

Undergraduate Study

·  Department of Kinesiology offers degrees in Exercise Science, Fitness and Sports Studies, Health and Physical Education, and Sport Management.

·  Department of Nutrition offers degrees in Dietetics and Food Systems Management.

·  School of Nursing offers a traditional undergraduate Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree pathway. This program prepares the student for a career in the health care field as a registered nurse upon successfully passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), in accordance with applicable state licensing requirements.

Graduate and Professional Study

·  Cardiovascular Perfusion Program offers a 60-hour Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion degree. This is a 22-month continuous program with two semesters of didactic education on campus and three semesters primarily clinically based.

·  Exercise and Human Performance offers a 36-hour master’s degree program.  Students graduate with a M.S. in Exercise and Human Performance.

·  School of Physician Assistant Studies offers a 124-hour Master of Science, 7 semester program that runs year-round. It includes 4 semesters of didactic education and 3 semesters of clinical education.

·  Master of Science in Nutrition is a 33-hour master’s degree program that may stand alone or be combined with the Dietetic Internship Program for students who are matched to the combined program. The combined MS/DI is an accredited Dietetic Internship Program (DIP), providing both the coursework and the supervised practice needed to be eligible to write the Registration Examination for Dietitians.
