PS 4113 - Mindfulness: History, Science & Practice 3 SP


This course is largely experiential. Students will learn the core principles mindfulness and many forms of mindfulness practice. Students will develop their own mindfulness practice and learn to apply that practice to daily life. Applications include strategies to increase awareness of present-moment experience and skillfully work with thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Students will also study the history, theory and latest scientific research in the field of mindfulness. No previous mindfulness or meditation experience is necessary. This course is open to undergraduate & graduate students.
