MA 1314 - Calculus I (4) F, SP, (SU on demand)

Functions and limits, differentiation of polynomial and trigonometric functions, applications of the derivative, Newton’s method, antidifferentiation, the definite integral.

Prerequisite: MA 1123  with a minimum grade of “C,” or MA 1135  with a minimum grade of “C”; or a semester of high school trigonometry and at least a 26 ACT (or 620 SAT or 25 CLT) math score or a semester of high school trigonometry and at least a score of 30 on Lipscomb’s Math Placement Test.
