AAI 1013 - Introduction to Applied Artificial Intelligence (3) F


A general education course introducing the fundamental concepts, history, current state of the art, and societal impact of artificial intelligence. Topics include history of AI and machine thinking, types of AI systems, generative AI, interfacing basics, prompting and interaction techniques, language and information processing, and a survey of artifact generation. Students explore a subset of current AI applications across various fields including technology, science, communication, healthcare, business, entertainment, and scientific research. No programming or mathematical experience required. Additional emphasis on developing AI literacy as a lifelong learning skill toward understanding AI’s role in contemporary society.
