This 15-hour program focuses on the theory, research, and best practices for creating strategic and successful communication for various crisis, emergency, disaster, and high-risk situations. The effectiveness of warning messages, especially in the context of higher stress situations as well as perceptions of risks, human cognition and response to alarm messages, interpretation and behavioral factors, notification systems, sustaining safety and well-being. The unique impacts of crisis communication for repairing reputation and image are also considered. The program is designed for professionals working either in the public or private sectors who are responsible for meaningful crisis, emergency, and risk communication with a diverse range of audiences.
