The Screenwriting Certificate is part of a Stackable Certificate Program where students can earn three certificates, complete an MFA Thesis project and earn a Master of Fine Arts. The screenwriting certificate is also a stand alone certificate that students can take to learn about screenwriting and improve their writing skills with the standards of Hollywood for professional Screenwriting. The certificate requires 18 hours of program study from the approved list of courses. Any substitutions must be approved by the Director of the Graduate Certificates Program beforehand.

If student has already completed the Television Writing Certificate they can substitute the Writer’s In Development course and Story & Structure for two other courses in the electives. Electives
