Educational Leadership, Certificate of Graduate Studies

Educators who hold a master’s, educational specialist, or doctoral degree in a field of education, and have three years of successful educational experience may enter the Certificate Program for Educational Leadership to earn credits toward the Instructional Leader License. The 20-23 credit hour program provides course work and field experiences to prepare candidates for the SLLA exam required for earning the administrative license. Candidates who have completed a research course from their previous graduate program may be eligible for transfer credit into the Certificate of Educational Leadership Program, pending review of an official transcript.
The program adheres to the same admission standards and procedures and academic policies of the graduate education department and the requirements of the Tennessee State Board of Education’s learning-centered leadership policy.

Program Orientation & Completion
All degree/certificate-seeking candidates take the following two courses as non-credit, no-charge, and pass/fail, one during their first semester and one during the semester in which they complete their program/graduate: |
