This program is designed to prepare teachers and educational leaders to effectively teach gifted students and support high-quality gifted services. Candidates develop the knowledge and skills needed to make sound curricular and programming decisions that enhance learning for advanced learners. Graduates are equipped to serve as gifted education teachers and teacher leaders who support advanced academic programming in public and private schools, as well as community settings. Candidates who hold an active Tennessee teaching license will be eligible to add the Tennessee PK-12 Gifted Endorsement upon successful completion of the required Praxis examination. The program follows the admission standards, procedures, and academic policies established by the College of Education’s graduate studies.

The following 12 hours are required for the certification/endorsement in Gifted Education
Program Orientation & Completion
All degree/certificate-seeking candidates take the following two non-credit, no-charge, pass/fail courses. EG 5000 is taken during their first semester and EG 6000 during the semester in which they complete their program/graduate. |
