Candidates without a teaching license who would like to seek the Special Education Interventionist (K-8, 6-12) may enroll in this graduate level certificate track. This program has been designed to meet the standards for the Tennessee Special Education Interventionist (K-8, 6-12) license. The program will provide students with coursework in special education that addresses a wide range of topics from disabilities to instructional strategies to legal issues. Candidates will develop effective communication and collaboration skills in special education and will master the creation, implementation, and use of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
To add the Comprehensive Special Education license, candidates will take 2 additional courses (EGSE 5233 and EGSE 5313) and pass the Praxis exam for the comprehensive license.

Program Orientation & Completion
All degree/certificate-seeking candidates take the following two non-credit, no-charge, pass/fail courses. EG 5000 is taken during their first semester and EG 6000 during the semester in which they complete their program/graduate. |
