Additional Music Requirements:

MUA 2nx1, 3nx1 - Private Lessons (50-minute, 1-hour credit) during each semester the student is enrolled (up to 8 semesters); minimum of 4 hours at the 3000 level.

MUE 1nx0, 1nx1 - Ensemble, participation and a satisfactory grade (for credit or non-credit) in the assigned ensemble during each semester the student is enrolled (up to 8).

MU 2000 - Music Seminar, participation and a satisfactory grade during each semester the student is enrolled (up to 6).

Music Electives:

15-17 additional hours may be chosen from:

any CMU, MU, MUE, or WA courses.
additional ensembles or private lessons beyond those required, up to 10 credit hours.

All course prerequisites apply to electives.

The Bachelor of Science degree in music is paired with math/science courses that prepare students for a professional program in the sciences. The degree includes courses in mathematics and science and prepares students for the MCAT exam at the end of the junior year.
