Health and Physical Education Teaching (K-12), B.S.

The Health and Physical Education degree program is designed to prepare candidates for working in the K-12 classroom setting. With this degree, candidates have the ability to receive a K-12 teaching license. Candidates also have the option to add an ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement.  Candidates must successfully complete admission requirements for entry into the Teacher Education Program.  Upon formal admission to the Teacher Education Program, candidates must take and pass the appropriate PRAXIS II content exams in order to enroll in Student Teaching (Clinical Experience Lab III) as well as complete and pass edTPA to be recommended for licensure. *Health and Physical Education Teaching majors who take PE 2012  in their freshman year have satisfied the competencies of PE 2001  and do not need to take PE 2001 .

All students majoring in health and physical education teaching must achieve a “C” or above in all department courses required for the health and physical education teaching major.
