The Strength & Conditioning track prepares students for applied roles in athletic performance through evidence-based coursework and supervised field experience. Students study strength training, conditioning, athlete monitoring, and performance nutrition, integrating classroom, laboratory, and practice settings. The track aligns with emerging accreditation expectations for strength and conditioning programs and supports students pursuing NCCA-accredited professional certifications aligned with their goals.
In addition to the courses required for the Fitness & Sport Studies major, to complete the Strength & Conditioning track, students must successfully complete the following courses:
KIN 3023: Sport Performance Nutrition
KIN 3603: Strength & Conditioning I (in lieu of KIN 4153 - Principles of Strength Training)
KIN 3613: Strength & Conditioning II
KIN 4962: Strength & Conditioning Field Experience I (in lieu of KIN 4982 - Kinesiology Internship I)
KIN 4972: Strength & Conditioning Field Experience II (in lieu of KIN 4992 - Kinesiology Internship II)
