MU 1133 - Theory I (3) SP
The first semester of college music theory, including part-writing, harmonic analysis, and melodic harmonization applied to music of the common practice period (1600-1900). Minimum grade of “C” required to proceed to MU 2133 and MU 2402 .
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of “C” in MU 1103 (Fundamentals of Music) or passing grade on theory placement exam
Corequisite: MU 1111 (Sight-Singing, Ear-Training I)
