UBN 3013 - The Church and the City (3) The Church and the City examines the intersection of the urban context and Christian beliefs and practices. The course considers ways that churches and individual Christians can engage in in their local contexts in healthy and transformative ways. The Church and the City will locate the Western church within a missiological and sociological context, and describe core principles and competences for healthy community engagement. It will also consider a range of politically oriented theologies and the ways in which our own practices and beliefs intersect with the needs of cities and urban dwellers.
