EGSE 6233 - Complex Disabilities Understanding individual student needs is essential for a special educator. The primary purpose
of this course is to help students learn about the various needs of students with severe/profound
and multiple disabilities as described in the federal law, including issues related to postsecondary
transition. Students will learn how to use assistive technology to meet the needs of students.
This course will also introduce alternative assessment, how to determine when to use and how to
implement for appropriate students. Ed.S. courses have additional assignments.
