SW 2313 - Social Policy Practice and Advocacy (3) F


This course is designed to provide an overview of social work as it relates to policy practice, analysis, and advocacy. Emphasis is placed upon understanding the context in which policy is made, articulating one’s ethical responsibility as a social worker to influence policy, and acquiring the beginning professional knowledge, values, and skills necessary to advocate for social change. Policy issues and programs will be addressed with particular attention to vulnerable groups both historically and currently.

Prerequisite: SW 1103 .
This course may satisfy a LIGHT requirement.
