MG 4403 - Organizational Behavior (3) F, SP

Whereas skills in finance, accounting, marketing, operations, and strategy are critical for organizational success, the ability to manage the people and groups within an organization is equally important. Through your career, you will depend on others to accomplish tasks and projects. You will work for other people, with other people, and supervise other people. This course will help you understand how people and groups in organizations behave, react, and interpret events. It also defines the role of organizational systems, structures, and processes in shaping behavior, and provides a foundation for the effective management of people through individual motivation, team performance, and organizational structure. Drawing from fields including management, anthropology, sociology, information technology, ethics, economics, and psychology, an understanding of OB is essential for managers responsible for mobilizing employees to execute an organization’s strategy and creating a competitive advantage in the market.

Prerequisite: MG 3503 .
This course may satisfy the SALT Tier II requirement.
