CMU 2053 - Songwriting II (3) S

Advancing work focused on songwriting in a critique environment. Students write songs on their own and/or in co-write sessions, then perform them and receive feedback from the professor in class. More involved techniques of craft in harmony, melody, rhythm, form, and lyric are discussed, and students experiment with those techniques in various writing exercises. Minimum grade of “C” required to move forward into CMU 2063 .

Prerequisite: Minimum grades of “C” in CMU 2043 AND MU 1143 and MU 1121
