EG 6353 - The Student Experience (3)

What does it really feel like to experience all aspects of learning from the student perspective? How does a teacher’s attention to the classroom environment impact how a student learns? How does leader’s attention to the broader culture impact how the student thrives? This course tackles those complex questions and is designed to explore aspects of the American educationalexperience from the student perspective. Candidates will uncover how a multitude of institution based factors have the potential to shape learning outcomes and opportunities for student success. Candidates will explore ways to create and support teams of adults that are dedicated to the positive educational experience for students. Through readings, discussions, assignments, and field experience, candidates will investigate the ways in which students experience and perceive the education process. This course will include a focus on practical strategies and best practices for creating a positive and inclusive culture that supports student learning, robust engagement, mental health, and overall well-being.
