Film Production Major (B.F.A)

The B.F.A. in Film Production is an admission only program. All students enter the department of Cinematic Arts as a B.A. in Film Production.Early during spring semester of the students sophomore year, there will be a call for portfolio submissions for acceptance into the B.F.A program.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Web links to a minimum of:
- One short film
- Music video
- One short screenplay
Other requirements
- Submit 2 faculty recommendations (can be full time or adjunct faculty from film, theatre or animation).
- One outside recommendation (can be from a former teacher, employer or mentor).
- Completion of the following courses, with a grade of ‘B’ or above in each course: (these must all be completed before portfolio can be reviewed) Exceptions for transfer students. See department Chair if you are a transfer student.

- FICM 2023 Editing
- FICM 412V Career Creativity
- FICM 1023 Line Producing
- FICM 1603 Screenwriting

Total hours required - 67
Film Production Electives
CEA (College of Entertainment & the Arts) Electives
Students are required to complete 6 hours in any course combination in Theatre, Art, Animation, or Music. NOTE: Students must meet any prerequisites for selected courses.
These 6 hours count as part of the 67 required hours.
