Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sustainability

15 hours of course credit are required for the Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sustainability. Student professionals will complete the 12 hours of foundation courses plus one 3-hour advanced or elective course. The advanced or elective course choice should be made during consultation with the graduate director.

Certificate of graduate studies in sustainability course requirements

Students are required to complete the following four foundational courses (12 credit hours).

SU 6003 - Sustainable Earth Systems (3)
SU 6023 - Sustainable Enterprise (3)
SU 6203 - Psychology of Sustainability (3)
SU 6113 - Principles of Applied Sustainability (3)
And one of the following advanced or elective courses (3 credit hours):
SU 6033 - Special Topics in Sustainability (3)
SU 6123 - Green Building Design, Construction & Operation (3)
SU 6133 - Renewable Energy Options and Design Applications (3)
SU 6143 - Sustainable Food Systems (3)
SU 6183 - Urban Planning for Sustainability and Resilience (3)
SU 6193 - Water Management for Sustainability and Resilience (3)
SU 6063 - Metrics of Sustainability (3)
SU 609V - Advanced Sustainability Study in Travel (3) Offered for variable course credit.
