Computer Science Education Endorsement
The non-degree, endorsement program in Computer Science covers pedagogical principles of computer science, digital computing, and programming. It will prepare educators to teach students to use digital tools for research and collaboration, to become familiar with systems, and to use computational thinking in our technological world. Teacher candidates will foster student curiosity and mastery through hands-on experiences such as coding, robotics, and gaming and help them to learn to make creative ideas tangible. Candidates with an active TN teaching license will be eligible to add the Computer Science endorsement to their license once the appropriate Praxis exam has been passed.
Students seeking an initial teaching license can also seek a Computer Science Education (K-12) endorsement to add to the initial license by successfully completing the required 12 hours of coursework and passing the Computer Science Praxis II exam.
