Total hours required: 20
This track within Exercise Science will prepare the student with the prerequisites typical of a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program in the state of Tennessee. Although these prerequisite courses are typical, it is incumbent upon individual students to consult with each graduate program regarding specific prerequisite courses required for admission to that particular school. Students interested in pursuing a career as a physician assistant are not required to pursue this track nor major in Exercise Science. Successful completion of this track does not guarantee admission into an MPAS program.
In addition to the courses required for the Exercise Science major, to complete the Pre-PA track, students must successfully complete the following courses:
BY 2114 - Cell Biology
BY 2321 - Medical Terminology
BY 3214 - Microbiology
CM 1123 & CM 1221 - General Chemistry II & Lab
PS 1113 - Introduction to Psychology
Additional upper-level Chemistry with lab
Because specific graduate schools may require slightly different prerequisite courses, students may substitute courses and still complete the Pre-PA track.
