BU 6503 - Leading Teams and Groups in Organizations (3) Teams and work groups have become a design and structural choice of organizations as a response to performance pressures for speed, cost, quality and innovation. This course is a study designed to examine models, concepts, art and science of how teams work in organizations. The problems of team development in bureaucratic and matrix organizations will be reviewed. The course will provide guidelines and principles for designing team-based organizations. The class will be organized into teams and use cases to examine issues of organizational structures, systems, processes, culture and strategies. Current best practices books will be reviewed and shared.
