PHIE 1511 - Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences I (1)

The Spring semester IPPE-II course requires student pharmacists to complete 3 separate pharmacy practice experiences (5 weeks per experience) at assigned practice sites. Assigned practice sites include community pharmacies, institutional health system pharmacies, and/or specialty pharmacies. One of the 5-week practice experiences will involve simulated patient care experiences led by College of Pharmacy faculty. Student pharmacists will build upon the knowledge and experience from IPPE-I, with additional emphasis on: communication skills; pharmaceutical calculations; collection and assessment of patient and health care information; and introduction to developing a patient plan of care. Student pharmacists will receive credit for 60 IPPE contact hours.
