PHIE 2521 - Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences IV (1)

The Spring semester IPPE-IV course requires student pharmacists to complete 3 separate pharmacy practice experiences (5 weeks per experience) at assigned practice sites. Assigned practice sites include community pharmacies, institutional health system pharmacies, and/or specialty pharmacies. One of the 5-week practice experiences will involve simulated patient care experiences led by College of Pharmacy faculty. Student pharmacists will build upon the knowledge and experience from IPPE I-III, with additional emphasis on: understanding administrative and clinical roles of pharmacists; enhanced competency in implementing a patient plan of care; introduction to monitoring and evaluating a patient plan of care; and enhanced interprofessional collaboration with other health care disciplines. Student pharmacists will receive credit for 60 IPPE contact hours. Fee - $20.
