The 36-hour competency-based education (CBE) version of the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is comprised of four certificates specifically focused on professional skills important to pastoral work. Whether you are part of a staff of a congregation or serve in a voluntary capacity as a leader, the MACM (CBE) will equip you for greater Kingdom service in a variety of settings. There are currently six certificates available and students can choose any four to earn the MACM.
The current six certificates include:
- Certificate in Pastoral and Self Care (9 hours)
- Certificate in Discipleship and Mission (9 hours)
- Certificate in Ecclesial Formation (9 hours)
- Certificate in Collaborative Leadership (9 hours)
- Certificate in Campus Ministry (9 hours)
- Certificate in Disciple Making (9 hours)
The program is flex pacing, which means you complete the courses as you have time rather than in traditional semester formats. Students pay a subscription fee each semester to access the learning management system. Once a course is completed, credits are granted. Once all coursework in a certificate area is completed, a certificate is granted. When four certificates are completed, the masters is granted.
To enroll in the MACM (CBE), you must be involved in one of our partner congregations. This degree is only available through those partnerships. To learn more, please contact the director of the competency-based program, Dr. Randy Willingham.
