Leading in Curriculum and Instruction, Ed.S.

The Ed.S.  in Leading in Curriculum and Instruction focuses on both the theory and implementation of best practices in teaching and learning while equipping the participant to take a leadership role in his or her teaching setting. The program provides a solid foundation in research-based instruction, curriculum, teaching strategies, data use and skills. Sharing a common core of classes with the other Ed.S. programs, the Ed.S. in Leading in Curriculum and Instruction is designed to enhance both teaching skills and career opportunities.

Course Requirements


All Ed.S. candidates take the following two courses as non-credit, no-charge, and pass/fail, one during their first semester and one during the semester in which they graduate:

EMPHASIS Teaching, Leading and Learning 

Ed.S. Core + 18 hours in electives

18 hours of electives chosen to support individual learning goals

  • 6863 (School-Based Assessment) may be taken in place of 6253 (Organizaitonal Planning and Change) of the Leadership Core

    6343 (Curriculum Design and Development) may be taken in place of 6263 (School and Community Relations) of the Leadership Core
