ED 2313 - Introduction to Education (3) F, SP


This course introduces candidates to key issues in education. Through an examination of the historical, social and philosophical foundations of education, candidates will examine the relationship between society’s goals and those of schools. Candidates will develop a foundational understanding of learning and motivational theories and connect these theories to current educational practices.This course will study the community setting and the school, the social, political, and instructional organization of a school, and the roles and values of a teacher. The course includes a field experience component, providing real-world context to the course content. Completion of this course is required for all further undergraduate education coursework.
