LU 1303 - Compass: First Year Seminar 3 F The purpose of this course is to lay a foundation on which students will build throughout the remainder of their education at Lipscomb in thinking critically, reasoning ethically, communicating effectively, and deliberating responsibly by asking central human questions and discussing important contemporary topics. This class will provide a foundation for a lifelong journey of learning, equipping students with the intellectual, ethical, and spiritual tools to seek truth and to pursue wellbeing. The search for truth involves nurturing the capacity to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively and to behave ethically and empathetically. Our goal is to aid students in knowing God, understanding the world and self, and serving others as the ultimate aim of a Christian liberal arts education that prepares students to live out their vocation to love and serve their neighbors.
