ED 4253 - Special Education Methods for Effective Planning and Instruction (3) This course equips teacher candidates with the skills to collaborate effectively with school staff, manage caseloads, and communicate clearly with support personnel and paraprofessionals to support all students. Through a variety of learning modalities, participants will explore key strategies in collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching. Topics covered include characteristics of effective teaching, intervention planning, diverse instructional approaches, and technology integration. Special focus will be given to content-specific methods, particularly for ELA and math as well as essential practices for supporting exceptional students. Candidates will learn to implement tailored supports, accommodations, and modifications to meet students’ needs within the general education and exceptional education classroom.
