ED 3573 - Integrating the Arts and Gross Motor Development (3) This course focuses on the essential connection between the arts and gross motor development in early childhood education. It provides apprentices with the tools and strategies to integrate creative movement, music, visual arts, and dramatic play into activities that promote physical coordination, strength, balance, and overall motor skills in young children. The course emphasizes how these activities can also support cognitive, emotional, and social development, enriching the whole child’s learning experience. Through a combination of on-the-job learning and classroom instruction, apprentices will explore various ways to design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to express themselves through movement and the arts. They will also learn how to use the arts to foster creativity, teamwork, and self-expression, all while promoting physical health and motor skill development.
